Global climate change is a phenomenon that affects all aspects of life on Earth today. In recent decades, we have witnessed increasing average temperatures, changing weather patterns, and increasingly frequent natural disasters. The impacts of these changes are far-reaching, from the environment to the economy and public health. One of the most obvious impacts is an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters such as floods, droughts and tropical storms. Data from the World Meteorological Agency shows that these extreme events have increased significantly in the last two decades. The agricultural sector is also heavily impacted by climate change. Weather uncertainty can result in a decrease in crop yields, which in turn impacts global food security. For example, crop failure due to drought could lead to spikes in food prices and famine in some areas. Meanwhile, marine ecosystems are also experiencing changes; Warming sea temperatures threaten coral reefs and fish resources, which are vital for coastal life. In the health sector, climate change is triggering an increase in vector-borne diseases, such as malaria and dengue fever. Global warming allows mosquito habitats to expand more widely, thereby increasing the risk of the disease spreading. Respiratory diseases are also on the rise due to air pollution, which is exacerbated by climate change. To overcome this problem, various solutions have been developed. First, the transition to renewable energy is a crucial step. The use of solar, wind and hydro energy can reduce dependence on fossil fuels which contribute to carbon emissions. The government is also encouraged to implement policies that support sustainability, such as incentives for clean energy users and carbon taxes for polluting industries. Second, conservation and rehabilitation of ecosystems is another important solution. In many cases, forests can act as effective carbon sinks. Therefore, reforestation and protection of areas with high biodiversity are essential in fighting climate change. Sustainable agricultural practices can also help reduce emissions and increase food security. Third, public education and awareness must be increased. Through educational programs and campaigns, the public can be taught about the importance of reducing carbon footprints and how to contribute to mitigation efforts. At the international level, agreements such as the Paris Agreement provide a basis for countries to work together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Each country has commitments that are tailored to local capabilities and conditions, making handling climate change more inclusive and comprehensive. Facing global climate change requires collaboration across sectors and scientific disciplines. Through innovative technology and strong collaboration, we can overcome these challenges. Stakeholders from government, business and civil society organizations must contribute to ensuring holistic and sustainable solutions.
