World Series Highlights

The World Series is baseball’s biggest stage. It’s a competition that’s full of excitement and tension, but also a sense of history. Many of the most famous moments in baseball have occurred during the World Series, including some incredible comebacks. Those moments include Carlton Fisk’s game-winning walk-off home run in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series, which is widely considered to be one of the best games in baseball history. The game featured several lead changes and nail-biting turns of events that left fans on the edge of their seats.

The World Series also features some of the most historic teams in the sport. For example, the Boston Red Sox broke their 86-year World Series drought by defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004, while the Chicago White Sox ended their 88-year curse by beating the Houston Astros in 2005.

In 2024, the New York Yankees faced off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a series that’s been full of historic firsts. For example, this is the first World Series to take place entirely in November (the previous one began on October 31, went into extra innings and ended early on November 1, allowing Derek Jeter to be hailed as “Mr. November”). It’s also the first time a team has won the World Series after trailing in all four games. It’s also the first time a player has won the World Series MVP award after hitting home runs in all three games of a series.
